Out and About: |
|
The Western Isles - or Outer Hebrides - are in a magical setting on the edge of the Atlantic. There is nothing between here and North America except the ocean. There are simply miles of unspoilt sandy beaches and ruuged coastline to explore at your leisure. Inland, lochs, moorland and mountains make for a rich and varied landscape. The culture of the region is quite distinct. The ancient Gaelic language is alive and well and widely spoken. This traditional island way of life is reflected in the arts and crafts to be found here. Archaeological sites tracing local history are many and varied; the standing stones at Callanish, for example, are a must-see.

The Lady Anne is back in action and making trips on a demand led basis. So if you are in (or coming to) Uist and you feel like a boat trip, give me a ring and I will try and get something organised. I would normally require a minimum of 4 people, but don't let that put you off phoning or emailing, I can usually get a group together. |
