The Star Hotel, Twynholm renowned for its hospitality for over 200 years, is situated in the heart of beautiful Galloway. A family run hotel, we aim to offer a friendly, personal service & a great atmosphere. We use local produce where we can and everyone is made very welcome.
Our menu offers a range of home cooked dishes and the majority of our dishes are also gluten free. Our signature dishes are our Star Steak Pie, Nannies Fish Pie and freshly battered fish 'n chips - and we only serve hand cut chips!!
We are located right in the centre of Dumfries & Galloway, halfway between Dumfries & Stranraer, which makes Twynholm a great place to use as a base whilst discovering all the area has to offer.
We have links to two local Golf Courses, Kirkcudbright & Castle Douglas, so golf packages can also be arranged.

A beautifully renovated Georgian townhouse dating from 1801, in the heart of the coastal artists' town of Kirkcudbright, on the north Solway shore. The Townhouse retains much original character, and great care has been taken to enhance the wealth of architectural features including the fireplaces in the sitting room and bedroom, original polished timber floors throughout and a wide staircase with exposed beams.
Refurbished and decorated to a high standard, the property boasts a bespoke country kitchen with marble worktops and beautifully designed bedrooms with king-size beds. There is also a small south-facing conservatory with a dining table and chairs, and access to the patio garden.

In the peaceful village of Twynholm, less than 3 miles from Kirkcudbright, Twynholm Cottage offers comfortable and relaxed accommodation for up to 3 people.
The cottage is very close to the extremely well-stocked village shop and 2 hotels which offer food and drinks, and only a short walk from the Coco-Bean chocolate factory.
A double bedroom with king-sized bed and a single bedroom provide sleeping arrangements for 3 people upstairs, while the sitting/dining area and small kitchen allow guests to relax and unwind. You can enjoy outside dining on the patio or in the small detached garden.
All our guests remark on the friendly villagers, the peace and quiet and the ideal position for exploring the area. There's something for everyone in this area.

After a major remodelling and total refurbishment Fludha now offers 6 individual guest rooms, luxuriously and tastefully furnished. All rooms have stunning en-suite bathrooms and are equiped with quality furniture including large flat screen televisions. Broadband wi-fi internet connection is available throughout the guest house.
Our aim is to provide luxury accommodation in every sense. This feature rich home has 2 twin rooms and 4 double rooms all with top quality furnishings fixtures and fittings. All but one of the rooms are well above average size and all have beautiful en-suites.
The top quality carpets, linen and towels, beautiful furniture and tasteful decorations all blend together in splendid luxury. Two of our en-suites have baths and separate shower, all showers are larger than average to give you the feeling of being able to stretch out and enjoy the high pressure experience in comfort. Heated towel rails make these en-suites even more inviting
After a day out and about in Galloway's glorious countryside why not complete the day and dine in Fludha's elegant surroundings in the evening? Christine's home cooked multiple choice menu will delight even the most discerning of food lovers. All of which is absolutely perfect when accompanied by a glass or two of wine from the quality wine list. With great views south and west over the river from the dining room there is no better place to sit and watch the sun go down.
