Balcraggie House is the old Church of Scotland manse in Glenelg. The self-catering studio is the original North Wing of the house, and was originally designed as the study rooms of the minister.
BED AND BREAKFAST
There are two bedrooms available for our bed and breakfast guests: one with a king-sized double, the other has a double and a single bed. Both are large rooms with original artwork and fresh flowers.
Guests have exclusive use of the living room where there is a tray with drinks and refreshments always available.
SELF CATERING
The studio is completely self-contained and opens onto a sheltered walled garden with an orchard, vegetable garden and seating/barbecue area which is reserved for the use of guests.
It has been recently renovated and upgraded to a high standard and contains a sitting/dining room, a double bedroom, a shower-room and kitchen. All floors are tiled and there is underfloor heating throughout. The sitting room has two matching sofas - one of which converts to a double bed. It also contains a dining table with six chairs, coffee table (with board games) and a well-stocked bookcase. There is a television and DVD player, but television reception has not yet reached this remote glen! The bedroom has a double bed and wardrobe, bedside cabinets, coffee table and two chairs. The bed has a featherdown duvet and pillows with Egyptian cotton sheets and coverlet. The kitchen has a fan-assisted double-oven cooker, a microwave oven, washing machine/dryer and fridge. Again there is plenty of storage space and all mod cons. The shower room is beautifully fitted out with all conveniences and there is an ample supply of fluffy towels and bath sheets. There is disabled access throughout.
Central heating and hot water are included in the rental price. Local Visitor Information is available (a pack will be sent out to you on booking) and we can book local excursions for you. We can also supply home-grown salad vegetables in season, and arrange for supplies of local seafood.
You are welcome to bring well-behaved pets into the studio.
LOCATION
We are one mile from the village of Glenelg where there is a well-stocked shop (with off-licence) and excellent Inn which specialises in seafood and other local produce. | contact: | tel: 01599 522313 email: donnaeddie@btinternet.com
