Out and About:

Stirling & the Trossachs:  Accommodation

Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park is a national park in Scotland centred on Loch Lomond, and includes several ranges of hills, the Trossachs being the most famous. It was the first of the two national parks established in Scotland, the second being the Cairngorms National Park. The park consists of many mountains and lochs, and the principal attractions are the stunning scenery, walking, and wildlife.

The City of Stirling, while steeped in history, was only actually granted 'city' status in 2002. The Old Town is like a walk through history - the Castle and the Church of the Holy Rude, mansions, town walls, graveyards and ghosts.

The city is compact and pedestrian-friendly and has all the buzz and cosmopolitan culture of a University city two theatres, two cinemas, contemporary art galleries and live performance spaces.

The Helix

The Helix project is a huge new development aimed at regenerating the area around Falkirk and Grangemouth. The project has many facets and will evolve over a period of time. One of the main focuses is the construction of two colossal structures called The Kelpies which tower 30 metres above the Forth & Clyde canal and form a dramatic gateway to the canal entrance on the East Coast of Scotland. Sculpted by Andy Scott, The Kelpies are a monument to horse powered heritage across Central Scotland.
