BED AND BREAKFAST WITH A STUNNING VIEW
-------------------------------------------------
If you're looking for bed and breakfast accommodation in the Scottish Highlands then look no further than Tigh-a-Cladach (Gaelic for House by the Shore). Tigh-a-Cladach is located in the small village of Badicaul which is near to Kyle of Lochalsh and the road bridge to the Isle of Skye. The photograph shows Tigh a Cladach and gives you a taste of the panoramic view of the Island of Skye which can be enjoyed from the bedrooms and dining room.

The property has extensive gardens which extend to the coastline and afford the opportunity to explore the many local rock pools and coves.

Roe deer and pine martins are frequent visitors to the garden, dolphins are often spotted from the house in the summer, and seals can be seen all year round. Otters frequent the shore and if you're lucky you might see one. Minkie whales visit the area every year. Basking sharks are another visitor to these waters.

Badicaul is ideally located for touring the Isle of Skye, Lochcarron, Torridon Mountains, Applecross, Loch Maree, Glenelg, Glenshiel, and a lot lot more.

Kyle of Lochalsh is ideally situated for visitors wishing to explore the West Coast of Scotland. The world-famous Eilean Donan castle is 8 miles away and the picturesque village of Plockton where the TV series "Hamish Macbeth" was filmed is 6 miles. The village of Applecross is an hour's drive away. It is reached by driving over a high mountain pass (not for the faint-hearted!).

The scenery is spectacular and the village boasts a beautiful beach. This is also the location where the Monty Halls series was filmed. The West Coast ruggedness appeals to most people, especially cyclists, walkers, climbers and bikers.

Kyle of Lochalsh is also the gateway to the Isle of Skye and the Outer Isles. Although we now have a toll free bridge any romantics among you wishing to travel "over the sea to Skye" may do so on the Glenelg ferry. This is another interesting drive with wonderful views. There are lots of different activities available, lots of interesting places to see and an abundance of wildlife. Also many sites of historical interest including castles, Pictish brochs, museums etc.
